We think Kian has an allergy to some type of food. We are not sure what, but you can see what kind of reaction he had. He has never had such a reaction to food before, so we are wondering what it could have been. We know what foods he ate for dinner (that's when he said he started getting itchy), and so we can begin to pinpoint from there. He ate a hamburger with ketchup, bbq chips (the cheap kind), corn, mint choc. chip ice cream (cheap kind), choc. syrup (cheap kind). Since he has had bbq chips, corn, ketchup, and choc. syrup before, we are thinking that it might be either the kind of hamburger or ice cream flavor (since he has had other flavors of ice cream made by the same company and no reaction). Whatever it is, this is a first for us and only with Kian.

Gotta think soap or something outside in the environment too.
True, but those things haven't changed recently. I would think that they would have already manifested earlier if it was change of soap or other.
I had a weird reaction this week too--it seemed like an allergic reaction, but we can't find what on earth it could have been. Nothing was new in our meals or products in our home.
It must have something to do with sharing the same birthday! :)
Poison ivy?
Brandon had a horrible case of hives when he was 5. It covered his whole body. After 3 days of misery, I took him to the Dr. Doctor said it was probably caused by a virus. He has never had it since, so we think it was virus, not allergy.
Treatment: Chickweed herb in a bath as hot as he could stand, then we'd rub his whole body with wheat germ oil. We also kept him on Benadryl, mostly so he could sleep through the agony.
The hot water thing we discovered when Dallin got poison Ivy. It draws the histamines to the surface of the skin and releases them, making the person intensely itchy for a few minutes, but then it gives them a break.
Hope he gets better soon. I think Brandon's case was 5-7 days.
