Time Flies

You have all heard the saying "Time Flies When You Are Having Fun". Since Kian will be turning 8 this year, Rhyetta and Kian went to a baptism preview tonight (I stayed home with sick girls). When Kian came back, he was excited about the experience. He mentioned where they change, and the clothes they will wear (he asked if he gets to keep the clothes, and we said no), the baptismal font. Rhyetta spoke on baptism. I asked Kian why do we get baptised and he said "to wash away our sins." Obviously he was listening to his mother speak. The date has been set for June 6th.

I cannot believe that Kian will be turning 8, and getting baptised. Where did the time go, and when did he grow up. The same goes for Abby, and Ella. Time certianly does fly by. Wasn't it just yesterday he was playing with Tonka (c) trucks in the backyard with Grandpa? Now he is reading, loves to listen to Shakespeare, Peter Pan, and the Spiderwick Chronicles when he goes to sleep, and does "big boy" things.

Recently we painted his room. He had to be in on the color decision. He wanted blue and yellow, but not just any shade. Rhyetta was showing him swatches of different colors and telling him "no" on most. He was getting quite upset, saying "you don't let me do anything the way I want". He compromised on the shade of yellow, but got to choose the dark blue. Since when did he have and become so vocal of what Rhyetta and I do for him? He's growing up.

I just hope he doesn't turn out like me as he continues to grow up. Hopefully time won't fly so fast, but slow down so we can enjoy the ride.
